The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday denounced the U.S. administration's plan to establish a Golden Dome missile defense system, calling it a "very dangerous" move aimed at enabling a nuclear war in outer space.

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump announced details of the $175 billion initiative, which involves space-based interceptors designed to defend against ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missiles, and other advanced aerial threats. He said the system should be operational within three years.

In a memorandum, the DPRK described the plan as "a very dangerous threatening initiative" intended to advance U.S. military power and facilitate offensive operations.

It further accused the U.S. of seeking military dominance by integrating allied forces into an integrated missile defense system, thereby enabling their participation in future U.S.-led military actions.

The DPRK denounced the plan as "a typical product of 'America first,' the height of self-righteousness, arrogance, high-handed and arbitrary practice," claiming it represents "an outer space nuclear war scenario supporting the U.S. strategy for uni-polar domination with the preemptive establishment of the outer space-based military substructure."

The memorandum warned that global security is growing increasingly unstable due to "the U.S. undisguised moves for space militarization."
