Editor's Note: A decade into the official launch of the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum, closer cooperation holds immense promise as China and Latin American and Caribbean countries make headway in establishing a community with a shared future powered by mutual benefit and dedicated to the people's well-being. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's He Yanke sat down with Colombian President Gustavo Petro during his visit to China to attend the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China–CELAC Forum on May 13 and formally sign up to China's Belt and Road Initiative the next day. Petro said that both countries plan to enhance bilateral cooperation and trade and give fresh momentum to people-to-people exchanges in order to "bring together the Jaguar of the Americas and the Chinese Dragon."
